I am a mother, a wife, an endurance rider, and a rancher. Like so many things, SoDak Riding Wear began out of necessity—not a business plan. I made my first riding skirt for myself, never imagining it would lead me here. But ride after ride, fellow endurance riders began stopping me to ask where I’d gotten it… or if I could make one for them. In those conversations, I realized I wasn’t alone. Riders like me needed riding gear that could stand up to real weather, long miles, and hard work—without sacrificing comfort or function.
SoDak Riding Wear was born from that shared need.
Founded in 2019 in northern South Dakota, SoDak Riding Wear is rooted in a simple truth: traditional winter gear isn’t made for riders. Bulky overalls make mounting difficult. So‑called “winter” riding tights fall short in months of relentless cold. On a ranch, the work doesn’t stop when temperatures drop—and chores don’t wait for nice weather.
Riding and working through rain, snow, and bitter cold doesn’t have to be miserable. Not when your gear works with you instead of against you.

Every SoDak Riding Wear item is designed for those who ride, work, and show up —no matter the forecast.
